So, real quick: I watched this video this evening (recommended by my sister-in-law, Mel) about Ina May and Stephen Gaskin on home birth. They founded a community in the 1970's called "The Farm," during which Ina May became a midwife and wrote her most famous book "Spiritual Midwifery".
This video is a pretty awesome insight into their experience of midwifery. If you have some spare time, check it out:
