9 Weeks!

Weight: Officially 9 lb, 13 oz.
Height: Officially 22 1/2 inches
Favorite activity: Floating in the big bathtub
Favorite food: breast milk
Favorite spot: the swing
Naughtiest moment: Epically pooping over two pairs of diapers, her pajamas AND the changing table pad!
Important milestones: First babysitter that isn't related to her, first vaccination
How Mom's Feeling: At the moment: tired. Tired, but good. Today, Lorelei got her first vaccinations. After much research and discussion, we decided to go with the traditional schedule. While there were many reasons behind this decision, for me, two were the most important:

#1 Brian and I are exposed to a lot of people on a day to day basis, which means we are exposed to a lot of germs on a day to day basis.
#2 By using the traditional schedule, most of the immunizations are done by 6 months. During these first 6 months, Lorelei will be breastfeeding, ergo she will have a stronger immune system.

While there is no single right answer or method for vaccinations, we feel confident we are doing the right thing. Of course, it was an exhausting day for us. The appointment was scheduled at 11, right in the middle of Lorelei's naptime (I didn't realize this when I scheduled the appointment a month ago!). So I had to wake her up and once we got the doctor's office, she realized she was hungry, so I had to feed her. Then we both got the shots, ran an errand and went home. This afternoon, she was inconsolable. Really. I think she cried for an hour solid and nothing I did would help! She was working off of about a 45 minute nap, with not much food, so she was tired and hungry, sore from the shots and angry about all three! I finally gave her some baby Tylenol and tucked her into the Moby wrap. Finally she was able to fall asleep and, later, eat. Let's just say, I'm not looking forward to tonight!

Other than that, though, we're doing pretty good. I've started planning summer camps, getting back into the swing of going back to work. Brian and I had a second date--We saw the Hunger Games Movie (awesome) and had lunch at our favorite restaurant (Martin's West, yum!) while Lorelei stayed home with our friend and Brian's client, Debbie (who conveniently lives only 10 minutes away!)

Everyone always says how fast time flies with a baby. How if you blink, you'll miss it. To enjoy every minute. I definitely believe it! Lorelei has officially grown out of her newborn clothes. Her onesies are a thing of the past, her jammies are too tight and her pants have turned into capri leggings! Sometimes, I'll look at her sleeping and think: "Wow. She is so absolutely and completely perfect. How can anything be as perfect as she is?" It's an awe-inspiring and humbling experience.

As always, some pictures from our week:

When Lorelei smiles, she smiles with her whole body! I absolutely love it!
Step 1: Look at mom or dad or grandma or one of the dogs

Step 2: Roll and start the smile
Step 3: Full on rolling and smiling. Maybe a laugh or coo in there, too!

Ready to go see Poppy and Grandma Bee Bee (she epically spit up all over this 30 seconds later!)

Hanging out in one of her favorite spots: the Moby!

Getting changed into her jammies after another spit up!
Ready for Sunday's Pajama Day!
Pajama Day Breakfast: Eggs Benedict, Grapefruit and Orange Juice

Mom's rockin' Pajama Day ensemble--Hey! I needed to put something in the garage, and my rainboots were right there!

The Timeline of Tummy Time

Minute 1: Well, this is okay.

Minute 2: What can I see over here?

Minute 3: What is THAT???

Minute 4: And I'm done. No more!
