Whoops!

My eggo is preggo! Seriously. Was this planned? Well...sorta.

So, in October, I went off the pill, planning on getting my cycles back to normal and charting in the meantime. That way, when we were ready, we could get pregnant right away. Best laid plans, right?

A few tips for those who are charting (not that I did these things):
#1 Read the whole book (Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler) before you get started. Even the parts that don't sound like they apply (like using it as a birth control option)
#2 Don't slack on the whole charting thing. Do it all: the temperature, the vaginal fluid (yum!) and the cervical position.

Just because this wasn't exactly "planned," that doesn't mean we aren't TOTALLY thrilled about this. The timing, however, is something we aren't quite as excited about:
#1 We are in the middle of a lawsuit. It would be nice to have that settled before taking another life changing  step.
#2 I got knocked up (love that phrase. Makes me laugh whenever I say it.) in mid-November. That would put our due date somewhere in the neighborhood of mid-August. Which means
        a) I will be 9 months pregnant during the hottest time of the year.
        b) I will be 9 months pregnant for my sister in law's wedding, and I am a bridesmaid (sorry Mel).
I already have the dress. I don't think it is going to fit. I'm going to have to get it radically
altered or buy another one. That is, unless I have the baby before the wedding. But what if I
don't? What if I go into labor DURING THE WEDDING? 3 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME?

For now, however, I am not going to worry about any of that. I am just going to enjoy the whole process.

How far along: 3ish w
Weight: 152 lb
Baby size: probably about the size of a poppy seed
Sleep: Good. No problems yet.
Movement: Ha! No.
Feeling: Nauseous. Seriously, whoever made up the phrase "Morning Sickness" was just being optimistic. I now carry a box of oyster crackers with me wherever I go. And I have this really nasty taste in the back of my throat that is reminiscent of bile (yay)
What I miss: Being able to lift stuff. My mom told me I'm not supposed to lift anything heavy. And I have a feeling I am going to be missing my chai tea lattes. I had one of Friday and promptly went home and threw up.
What I am looking forward to: Telling my friends and family. I already told my mom (she was at the house when I took the test). I'm telling the rest of the family at Christmas.
Milestone: Positive pregnancy test!
To Do: I already picked up prenatal vitamins, but I need to find some cola syrup for the nausea. Also, I need to talk to the midwife. I've already emailed her.
Food Cravings: Cheese. And the only thing that sounds appetizing in the morning is a citrus-based fruit smoothy. I've stocked up on OJ and frozen fruit!
