My Eggo is Preggo: 27 Weeks

Important milestones: First Garlic Festival, First tangles in her hair, First time sitting up all on her own!
How Mom's Feeling: So great. Lorelei went to her first Garlic Festival, and she was a champ! She just loves being outside! She definitely likes being in our new Beco baby carrier (thanks, Dad!). It was a perfect day, not too hot, slight breeze. We spent a lot of time in the wine tent with Brian and Bonnie (who were pouring).

I'm super proud of Lorelei sitting up on her own this week. It was funny. One day she could, one day she couldn't. She couldn't sit on her own on Sunday. Couldn't sit on her own on Monday. Couldn't sit on her own Tuesday morning. Then, Tuesday afternoon, Lorelei sat on her own during a playdate! I think she saw all the other babies doing it, and wanted to do it too! We definitely need to go to more park playdates!

I'm continuously amazed at the food Lorelei likes to eat. There is such a great variety, and it's not just fruit! No meat or cheese yet. We're waiting until she actually has teeth for that! So far, Lorelei has tried:

green beans
plums
nectarines
banana
broccoli
tortilla
pita
sourdough bread toast
cornbread
plum yogurt
boiled red potato
mashed red potato
heirloom tomato
cucumber
dill pickle
cantaloup
watermelon
strawberry

Of these, the only things she doesn't really like are the watermelon and banana. Not bad, no? I feel my Grandpa Ed (who she shares a birthday with) would have been proud!
